Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets by Evan Roskos

dr birdThis was very good and I appreciated the strong presence of Walt Whitman (I always liked his stuff), but I found it so heartbreakingly sad that I wish I hadn’t chosen it for my last book of 2013. I think the main character was incredibly strong to address his depression, and I liked the friendship with his friend Derek a lot, but I could not stop thinking about what absolutely shitty excuses for parents he had.
