This is adult fiction, but I’m tagging this as YA fiction too, because I think about a million teens would love this book. Tired of Stormbreaker? Give this a try as something with a little action, but very different. I’m also on purpose not giving this a sci-fi category, I don’t care if Tor does publish it and the whole thing is about teleporting.
(OK, I started this review months ago, so let’s see what I can add to it today.)….
Um, yeah, this kid in a pretty lousy home situation discovers he can teleport. He uses his talent to not only get out of his life, but create a new one for himself complete with a nice bankroll of money from a robbery he pulls off using his teleporting. Those were the parts of the story I liked best–how he did things using his jumping. The story gets a little kooky when his teleporting is discovered and when he tangles with terrorists. They’ve made this into a movie pretty recently. I’m not sure how true it is to the book, but I’ll definitely give it a try. Also, I understand there is a sequel to this as well, so I’ll have to look into that.
