(I am so behind -10 books I think!-that I finished reading this mid-April and it is now the start of June. Yikes!)
I loved this historical fiction. It reminded me of Gone to Soldiers (an amazing World War II novel by Marge Piercy-go make it be one of the big fat satisfying books you read this summer if you’ve never read it before) in that is showed different characters experiencing the war in different ways.
The premise is that a small town on Cape Cod has a postmistress who, by virtue of the postal system at that time and their location, really does hold a lot of control over her small town. Read the rest of this entry »
